Emptiness?

This should be the main TOC of Gears, but it feels empty, like there should be some kind of introduction, maybe it's because we are converting this from book format to wiki and it's simply just incomplete now. I probably just paranoid. I'm so afraid I'm going to "Break" something in the wiki. This just might be a growing pain of watching Gears getting torn apart. ^_^ --Halkun 23:05, 8 Mar 2005 (CST)

Tech Support

If you were to offer tech support on the Wiki, whereabouts would it go? Unless FF7 Tech Support gets its own hierarchy, you could link to "Final Fantasy VII" on the front page and make this page a launch pad for the entirety of FF7 - then have seperate links to tech support/tweaks, the inner workings (i.e Gears) etc. which point to subsections under FF7/. If not then on the front page you could have seperate links to both, but then it wouldn't make sense that Gears gets the FF7/ subsection whilst tech support gets relegated to something else; otherwise putting both tech support and Gears under one section FF7/ would get them confused as it seems you were looking to put everything Gears under FF7/.

(Lengthy, but I thought I'd ask). --SB 14:47, 8 Mar 2005 (CST)

I'm not sure where to put tech support content, ideally it should be separated entirely from "actual content", but it also seems like a waste to duplicate the FF7/FF8 structure in another subpage structure... Still, I think something like Support/FF7 and Support/FF8 are good starting points, much better than mixing technical information with technical support in one page structure. --Qhimm 22:11, 8 Mar 2005 (CST)
I'm under the opinion that Tech Support should be done in the forums. I see it becoing too crufty with "I have xyz computer running abc card! Help." If you must have a faq of known issues I would strongly suggest have a mod lock the page so no one can edit it. Hardware is just too diverse and dynamic. It changes every year, making it a moving target at best. --Halkun 22:36, 8 Mar 2005 (CST)
I think some tech support answers should be here. When I started to work on project like this Wiki myself, I came up with something like this: Link. What do you think about this ?

This is the beginning point of the Wiki conversion of Gears

The Table of contents should go here. Each section in Gears should rate it's own page. Be very midful of duplications.

The PDF of Gears can be gotten here. You my want to right-click and save the target.

A conversion of the PDF file into something a little more portable would be nice. Like a Word XP .DOC file or maybe a PostScript (.PS) file.
