Talk:FF7/Kernel/Low level libraries
Lost Focus
The reason why these formats are under "Kernel" is because the FF7 kernel has libs compiled in to deal with these formats and are never banked out. I will probably need to cover that so it doesn't look like we are spilling a bunch of file formats in some abitrary area. (Talk more about the kernel here?)--Halkun 00:55, 11 Mar 2005 (CST)
Disconnecting Sections, Part II: Electric Boogaloo
This Low Level Libs section is going to get pretty expansive very quickly. I have an idea that can help marry the Hirearcal/Relational database problem. I'm thinking we can seperate entities into individual articles but keep an abstract on this page here. This will make editing much more modular, but keep a Table of Contents. (Kind of like what I did with kernel.bin, but as opposed to seperating out the tables, I can do it for whole setions. This keeps everything kind of togeather still. I'm going to play with this and see what I can come up with.--Halkun 00:39, 11 Mar 2005 (CST)
On Permission
Would it be a good idea to contact Ficedula and ask for consent to use his info in Wiki form? Also I'm reluctant to correct spelling mistakes and the like for this reason. The same could be asked of Alhexx and Mirex for the upcoming sections (so I won't do any more for the time being). --SB 17:05, 10 Mar 2005 (CST)
Also, and this is no judgement on Fice's writing style, but it doesn't seem to sit too well in the Wiki (just minor things like smilies), this goes along with what I said above but it might be an idea to edit it slightly if permission is granted. --SB 17:22, 10 Mar 2005 (CST)
- I've got defacto permission already. Here's the post from the forums...
- -On the subject of langauge, I speak American English and will be converting some of the more "Colourful" language over to something a little more nice to my spell checker. On the same side of the coin, I'm going to probably be altering some of the more informal language on some of your docs to bring a more unifrom feel for the text. (Dropping some of the "then you... I think this is garbage but.... I don't know that this......) This doen't require much brain power and gives me the ability to work on Gears while at school. (As opposed to getting out my hacking toolset to verify some of the sections, I can simply proofread for about an hour while I'm between study sessions)
- I didn't recieve any objections, I also let everyone know that the .doc format was a "free-for-all" for anyone to edit, (a percursor to this wiki) You can go ahead and change it, if a complaint happens, I can always revert and lock the section until someone writes something new.--Halkun 23:00, 10 Mar 2005 (CST)
